Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach (LESGO) is an impartial, neutral and independent Non-Governmental Organization whose mission exclusively established to promote life in underserved communities through empowering communities to know and protect lives including their environment towards ensuring safe habitation through participatory methodology. Established in Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach was established in 2010 but was incorporated in the year 2011 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). LESGO exists to partner with government and relevant agencies to promote and strengthen humanitarian law and a universal principle that seeks to honor the dignity of mankind with support and believe that Life is worth living and living well.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

  • Position: LGA Team Lead
  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Qualification: Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife
  • Experience: 5 – 6 years
  • Location: Lamurde – Adamawa State
  • Duration: 6 months

Job Summary

Supervise the overall implementation of the project technical aspect, ensuring adequate communication between LESGO and field staff, stakeholders and Agencies. S/he will provide technical leadership and support to strengthen all health interventions, and performance reporting within the targeted geographic area, which may include strengthening capacity of health workers and other stakeholders to monitor, document and analyze the performance of health services and activities and ensure data quality. /S/he reports directly to Project Manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supervises activities of Clinical Supervisors
  • Counsel and referring advanced issues to secondary healthcare
  • Work with the MEAL Officer to Monitor and Evaluate the effectiveness of facility and outreaches, making recommendations for improvement as needed
  • Provide overall managerial oversight for implementation of the health program activities in the target LGA;
  • Ensure health projects implementation are of high quality and meets the LESGO/ optimal standards.
  • Provide technical support to field staff and provide them necessary mentoring and trainings as needed to enhance their capacity for optimal performance
  • Ensure data collection, data compilation, timely preparation and submission of all reports including weekly and periodic reports
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members
  • Approve and manage all time, attendance and leave requests to ensure adequate departmental coverage; ensure monthly, accurate timesheet submission.
  • Make regular field and health facilities visits to monitor project implementation and provide on spot support to volunteers and propose modifications as necessary
  • Conduct performance reviews and clearance of Clinical Supervisors for monthly stipends.

 

Qualifications   

  • Health professional (B.Sc Public Health, Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife etc)
  • 5 – 6 years’ experience in coordinating, implementing and managing primary and secondary health programs
  • Experience in writing donors’ reports.
  • Have experience in general management.

 

Demonstrated Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated Managerial / Leadership Competencies:
  • Skills and experience of remote management and willingness to travel extensively
  • Flexible, diplomatic and have ability and willingness live and work under pressure of workloads.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Languages: English and Hausa

 

Compliance & Ethics:  

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics.
  • As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of LESGO and donor compliance and ethical standards.
  • Conducts work with the highest level of professionalism
