Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach (LESGO) is an impartial, neutral and independent Non-Governmental Organization whose mission exclusively established to promote life in underserved communities through empowering communities to know and protect lives including their environment towards ensuring safe habitation through participatory methodology. Established in Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach was established in 2010 but was incorporated in the year 2011 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). LESGO exists to partner with government and relevant agencies to promote and strengthen humanitarian law and a universal principle that seeks to honor the dignity of mankind with support and believe that Life is worth living and living well.

Job Title: Community Engagement Officer
Location: Madagali, Adamawa Reports to: Program Manager Duration: 3months
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our response team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading community engagement activities, ensuring affected communities are informed, participated, and empowered throughout the response.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement community engagement strategies and plans.
Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, groups, and stakeholders.
Facilitate community meetings, focus groups, and other engagement activities.
Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information to affected communities
Support community-led initiatives and capacity building.
Monitor and report on community engagement activities and feedback.
Collaborate with other sectors, such as health, shelter, and protection, to ensure integrated support.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in community engagement, participation, or social mobilization.
Strong knowledge of community engagement principles, methods, and tools.
Experience in emergency response, conflict zones, or refugee settings.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and community engagement skills.
Ability to work in challenging environments and under pressure.
Fluency in English, Hausa and any local languages
