Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach (LESGO) is an impartial, neutral and independent Non-Governmental Organization whose mission exclusively established to promote life in underserved communities through empowering communities to know and protect lives including their environment towards ensuring safe habitation through participatory methodology. Established in Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach was established in 2010 but was incorporated in the year 2011 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). LESGO exists to partner with government and relevant agencies to promote and strengthen humanitarian law and a universal principle that seeks to honor the dignity of mankind with support and believe that Life is worth living and living well.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WaSH Assistant Officer to support the implementation of WaSH programs, ensuring affected targetted communities have access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.
Responsibilities
Assist in conducting WaSH needs assessments and surveys.
Support the design and implementation of WaSH programs, including water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.3. Collaborate with contractors and vendors for WaSH infrastructure installation and maintenance.
Monitor and report on WaSH program performance, including water quality testing and sanitation facility maintenance.
Provide technical guidance and training to WaSH staff, field volunteers, and community workers.
Support community engagement and participation in WaSH activities.
Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards, policies, and guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Water Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in WaSH programming, preferably in emergency response.
Strong knowledge of WaSH principles, technologies, and standards.
Experience in water quality testing, sanitation facility maintenance, and hygiene promotion.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and community engagement skills.
Ability to work in challenging environments and under pressure.
Fluentin English and hausa languages.
